Ramp Up Marathon County is made up of volunteers who work to help lower income Marathon County residents with mobility issues remain in their own homes by donating time to design, plan and build wheelchair ramps and specialized steps. The group also works with local foundations and businesses to raise the money to cover building materials so that there is no cost to the service recipient. A program of Habitat for Humanity® of Wausau.

Referrals, screenings and application processing is handled through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin.

    My friend, Cindy Albight, received a ramp this summer and it has changed her life. What a wonderful program. Cindy can now enjoy leaving her house with ease and in safety. Great work volunteers!

It's heartwarming to see organizations like Habitat for Humanity® of Wausau partnering with the community to improve accessibility and enable individuals to remain in their own homes. While the focus here is on physical construction, it's also worth considering the accessibility tools available online, such as ramp calculators in Australia, which can assist in designing and planning such projects.
